Ugh, I have to say I agree with you both...for me, nothing beats the days of Cowboy Bebop *Which may be overrated for some, but there might be some sentimental attachment to it on my part, since Bebop was the first time I fell in love with an anime.* I wish there were more out there that shared the same vein, not all the Bounty Hunter stuff, but in terms of originality. It made me feel so involved with the story and the characters. :/ Now you have to weed out all the bad stuff, and that is why for the past few years I've kind of given up on anime and manga...

I just wish there was a Barnes & Noble close by so I could go read some manga before I spend 10 bucks, but it's like an hour from my house. *snort*

@Rocketeer: We should! That sounds like a good idea, actually. :3

OHGOD. Did anyone see the new Fool's Mate scans? *melts* Also, Yuketsuko did a new Ikinari page (2 pages, in fact!) and she baked Mucc...cookies. I LOVE THE NEW WIG. 8DDDDD It looks so much better than the past ones, but it's still a bit special lol.

Can anyone by chance give a summary of what she said or something? I bet it's freaking hilarious, because the pictures are funny enough.Yukke either ate his or she ate them for him *snort* Satochi approves, Tatsurou seems to like them (and the abundance of hearts next to his photos tells me he did) Miya looks indifferent.

Pictures at my mucc photobucket

Credit for the scans goes to morgianasama at Livejournal, though. :3

PostSubject: Re: Cheers for YUKKE!!   Cheers for YUKKE!! - Page 12 EmptySun 8 Mar - 3:26

oh my god I was cracking up for a full minute when it showed a shot of all the packages Yuketsuko was going to give to them and Yukke's card was a folded up piece of paper and the sweets looked to be wrapped in a too small piece of foil LMFAO
Plus all the rest of them had "-sama" attached to their names. ghskhgkshg

I can't read all of it, but she said things like "I was praised!!" after Satochi ate his, mentioned Miya being famous for having a sweet tooth and saying she'd die if he didn't like it or something like that, "he said it was delicious!!!!" etc.

oh, but I can tell you the conversation with Tatsurou!
Tatsurou: ehhh I don't want to eat what Yuketsuko made.... do I really have to?.....
Yuketsuko: That.. not really.. if you don't want to.. it's ok... (cry)
Tatsurou: Fiiine I get it
chomp... munch munch...
.........
.....(laugh).........mmmmhm!......this is pretty good!!
(laugh) It's really good!
Yuketsuko: KKKKKKKKYAAAAAAAAAAAAA ~tenmillionhearts~ (T_T) I'm so glad I made these!

and more gushing about her ~maidenly feelings~ and the ~people she admires~ and such. Someday.. I will be able to read these entire hilarious things, I swear...

LOL!!!!!!! *dies* God...I love Yuketsuko. Thank you for translating some of that!! I reaaaaalllly appreciate it. 8DDDDDDDDD It seems Tata-sama is starting to give in to Yuketsuko. Or maybe he's just terrified she'll creep in through his window and kill him in his sleep, who knows?

I know most people would think Yukke is stupid for doing the whole Yuketsuko thing, but I think he's a GENIUS. Genius, I say!! XDDD

I can't decide if Tatsurou was supposed to be laughing AT Yuketsuko and lying about the cookie or whatever being good or not.. his face says maybe, and he might have been being sarcastic but I don't want to read to much into it, lol

I don't know about "genius." Think of the Yuketsuko thing from the perspective of someone that's just getting into MUCC. "Oh, wow, look at this cool band with this cool music! OOOH WHAT THE HELL The bassist is a crossdressing freak! D: *runs away*"

It does take some adjusting to Razz Unless of course one was a fan of certain bands before hand, like Rammstein or Motley Crue and New York Dolls... Bwahahaha.

No, it's genius. *smirks* Honestly, unless you've just gotten into Jrock, a bassist that occasionally crossdresses shouldn't irk anyone. XD Or if you just avoid bands with femmy members altogether. Now what SHOULD irk people just getting into Mucc is that said crossdressing alter ego is madly in love with the vocalist. 8D

when i first saw the Yuketsuko attire, i just thought this guy is just having a laugh and messing about, not that i thought he was a proper crossdresser or an okama. You can tell he is making a joke by creating 'Yuketsuko', not freaking people out by showing how much in love he is with Tatsurou.

Although some people do quickly judge them or that they get confused as to why hes dressed like that, but im pretty sure people do finally understand that its just for fun.

Lol...honestly, I see no difference between people who cosplay (or crossplay. I've only ever cosplayed men.) and what Yukke does with Yuketsuko. He just makes a live broadcast of it and she has her own personality. It's fun, it's cute, nothing more than entertainment for him, the band and the fans. XDDDD

You guys aren't taking into consideration that you're familiar with this genre and this culture and what happens in both.

Pretend for a second that you're a person from the TOC tour. You don't watch anime, you don't cosplay, you don't know what Visual kei is. And WOW THIS MUCC BAND IS REALLY COOL. Very Happy Can you see why there would be mass WTFery? XP Hell, I had a hard time respecting Yukke when I first found out what Yuketsuko was.

I think it all depends on how open minded you are. Not saying you aren't, but I really think it comes down to that. I mean...Kurt Cobain played in a dress from time to time, to me that is the same thing. For someone that gets thrown off by a guy that doesn't even wear makeup, just a mask, sunglasses, a wig and sometimes a flower. If that makes someone not want to listen to a band, no matter what cultural exposure they have, then wow...that is just silly.

Obviously, none of the bands on Taste of Chaos thought Yuketsuko was weird, because they posed with Yukke in some sometimes suggestive poses and didn't look thrown off at all, and they all looked to be perfectly straight, non-exposed, normal Americans. XD

But I'm curious. What's the difference between this being off putting to potential Mucc fans and someone being thrown off by Mana or Kaya? Granted, they are pretty much constant crossdressers, but if someone doesn't like the fact that Yukke chooses to do this once a month for a magazine, then they don't need to be listening to Mucc. It comes with the territory just like any other fandom, Japanese or no.

Well, there's the idea that I don't know many Guys that would listen to Mana's OR Kaya's music, crossdressing or not. ^^

And I'm not saying it would keep them FROM being fans of the band. Lord knows I still listened to MUCC even after the fact, but again, it was a little disturbing to me at first. I didn't know the why's or what's behind him; I just knew that he was a drag queen that failed miserably. Mana I knew it as a stage persona, and Kaya... well, Kaya is the real deal XP

And you don't know that NONE of the TOC bands thought of it as weird. Only a portion of the bands on the roster were really mentioned often enough in the blogs.

Mana still wore (wears) dresses off-stage, and has said that he enjoys wearing women's clothing, so it wasn't all a stage persona. ^^

My point is, if it was that big of problem to someone just because he does it for a magazine once a month (and usually not on stage, although he did dress up in the beginning. Then again, all of Mucc dressed up all the time in the old days.) then I just don't get it. If he did it all the time in full drag attire, was the fem in the band and ran around humping random guys then I would understand how it would weird someone out when they've never heard Mucc or Jrock in general. Just based on what he does for a page in a magazine and for amusement, however, I do not understand at all. ^^

Well, I guess not ALL of them. Still, several were exposed to "her" and probably still respect the band highly. It shouldn't and doesn't take away from them as a band. *shrug*

They also got to know the band better than fans do. I only saw pictures of this... atrocity to cosplay before someone told me it was a gag that he does on occasion. XP

And they all dressed up, but they didn't all necessarily wear fishnet stockings and pencil skirts. When it's obviously bizarre, it's less shocking. When it's something more subtle like that, one isn't necessarily sure what to think.

I really need to go back to lurking... The more I speak the stupider I appear.

You don't appear stupid at all, and I can see what you mean, but I just can't understand it myself. I'm probably biased, but I've been exposed to strange all of my life lol. I can't think like...those "normal" people you speak of, and good ol' Yuketsuko doesn't strike me as anything more than something he does for the sake of amusement. O___o I mean, I was introduced to Jrock by way of Mana, so Yuketsuko is a small fry in comparison.

...and we shouldn't have to question why he does it, anyway. It doesn't harm anyone, and was never intended to be anything more than what it is, funny, so let's just leave it at that. XD I still consider him a genius, no matter how bizarre it may be. *laughs*

But that's just my point: What if you don't know it's supposed to be funny? What if you don't know Mana and Kaya? Or even if you do know those two; again, he fails pales by comparison, and his intentions behind it are less obvious. I first was introduced to Yuketsuko through the blog. I'd never heard of these articles/mini adventures of "hers," and even with my knowledge of VK and crossplay, it still caught me off guard. Thankfully I had a long-time MUCC fan for a friend that told what the deal was, eventually. XP

Ah, so Mana's the transvestite, Kaya's the drag queen. XD Got it.

Well, what if you don't? I get all that, and if someone was to come into the Mucc fandom with no knowledge as to why Yuketsuko exists, then what's to say the black eye makeup isn't any less of a turn off for someone free of influence? Makeup on men, no matter if it's just on the eyes (sometimes mouth. o_o) is still just as bizarre to many, and those same people would be like wtf crossdressing bassist, right? If they were to just happen upon Mucc and heard the music, then went to their myspace to check it out, they'd see the Sora to Ito picture with their heavy makeup. They'd go to the blog if they were a new fan and find naked mucc with their vocalist in a pig suit. They are a crazy band, and most of the time you'd find that out through other things long before you discover Yuketsuko and her ikinari and occasional blog picture. Yuketsuko is tame in comparison to some of their antics, really.

Yeah, that's right! Oh, Mana. lmao

Ok, I know this is out of nowhere but this entry really got to me: http://ameblo.jp/mucc--69/entry-10221670238.html

He ended two sentences in "nen". Googling that tells me that it's kansai-ben, which sounds right.

except it doesn't because Ibaraki isn't in the Kansai region of Japan so why is Yukke speaking Kansai-ben? D8 what really bothers me is that there's an Ibaraki city in Osaka, but I checked carefully and they're from Ibaraki prefecture, which is nowhere near the city.

why you gotta be so confusing boy

Ohh, I see. Actually, now that I think of it...I don't remember where he lives. It was either Tokyo or Osaka. It has to be close to Tatsurou (I think) and Zero, because he mentioned something somewhere. I know Zero had said that Yukke lived very close to him. *blinks*

Yeah, Tokyo's in Kantou. I thought he lived in Tokyo, but I could be wrong. Osaka could suit him.

oh wait didn't they have a signing session in Osaka? though Yukke pretty much always talks weird. Actually I just remembered this entry I saved from the beginning of October where he said "nanka nonda ya" and "nemui ya..." which I'm pretty sure is Osaka-ben. or kansai-ben, whichever

oh well, doesn't really matter, I'm just glad I finally recognized the dialect. That will make reading his entries so much easier. I should have recognized it in October though since I had been obsessing over Kanjani8 the very day I saved that entry. that might even have something to do with why I saved it..
