| I for one have a bitch of a time hearing pronunciation correctly. They hit their syllables so gently that K's sounds like G's, if they sound at all, and G's sound like N's. It's horribly confusing for a Western brain studying the language.
For that matter, if it's the kanji 神, then yes, it can be read both Kami and Gami.
Case and point: 犬神 and 神風 InuGami and Kamikaze.

I've allways heard it as "IwaKami", but that might be cuz' I found it amusing that he was "Tatsurou! The Stone God!"

| I wonder if...he's ever released the kanji for his last name? O__o Thanks for that Rivetspoon, and until someone confirms that it's Iwagami, I will continue on with Iwakami. XDDD
I knooooow that Yukke says "IwaKAmi" in that ZY clip, because he does the little "ka" and I just checked at full volume to make sure. It's kind of slurred, but it's definitely ka. 8DDDDD

| It would appear that he in fact does NOT use the kanji for "spirit," but rather the one for "up." And while that kanji can be read about 9 million different ways, "gami" is not one of them. | |

| Okay, so how did people get the gami?! XDDD Wooooow. Weird. Well then, I'm sticking with Iwakami. Thanks for finding that and clearing it up! I was really just curious, because the livejournal community for Tatsurou is "Iwagamitatsurou" and it was bothering me because I've always heard Iwakami when one of the band members say it. *blinks* | |

| Rikaichan name dictionary says that "Iwagami" IS one way to pronounce it. And apparently Ibaraki-ben makes k's and g's sound really close, so that's probably the reason for the confusion. but everywhere other than that livejournal community I've seen it written as "Iwakami", which I think sounds better anyway so I'm going with it, lol
and I watched that clip you were talking about, yeah, Yukke DEFINITELY said Iwakami.

| That makes sense...still, the whole gami thing only happened within the last year as far as I know. Some people just started using it, and I've seen it in a few other places other than the community. It's always been Iwakami, so it's strange.
So I'm not delusional! If Yukke said it that way, then I will believe him over anyone else other than Tatsurou himself or his parents. XDDDD

| you can read it both ways, as when i type Japanese using romaji, both spellings actually work.
But during the US tour, didnt Tatsurou's hotel check in thing showed Iwakami Tatsue - even though the Tatsue was a joke played by Miya.

I'm not too sure whether the one he bought was actually for women though...lol ...cos the mens version is not baggy

hmmm should i buy one and wear to their next gig? lol I love you for posting that link... I've been looking for shirts like that for a long time! I drew something kinda similar to that design years ago and forgot about it (I do that a lot...). And then Mr. Iwakami posted that pic on MySpace and I fell in love with the style and design (since it was much better then my old idea xD) but I've been to lazy to try to find the brand! Thank you for posting that link!!! Now I have to force my sister to help me find one of their London stores... Or try to sew something similar when I get time... and fabric... xP - Yubi wrote:

| It may just be an off day for him, or maybe he was sick before the show. *shrug* I wouldn't be too upset over it, because it's probably temporary and Tatsu will be back in working form soon enough. <333 Everyone has their bad days!! | |

| I won't let him use "sick" as an excuse. I went to a concert where the vocalist had laryngitis. LARYNGITIS. And he sang ALL NIGHT. I didn't notice that he was sick until he told us after the show. I thought twice about hugging him, but I did in the end. ^^;;; | |

| I wouldnt take the sick excuse either, it wasnt that his voice was not as powerful, it was really pitch problems....the only excuse I could give him is that these are new songs and maybe hes just not used to sing them....but still I feel its not like him, he always had a close to perfect voice to me so I was really shocked!! O_o *still is, actually*.... | |
